Mica Butnar

About

Mica Butnar was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A performer from an early age, her talent led her to a successful career as a professional dancer in Argentina. After training at the Julio Bocca Academy, she performed in productions such as The Man with the Iron Mask, Luxes, and Juegos de Fábrica, while continuing her studies at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes. Driven by her passion for the arts and a desire to grow, Mica moved to New York City in 2018. Inspired by numerous Broadway productions, she is now a full-time performer and educator in one of the world’s most competitive markets. Since relocating to NYC, she has performed on the Today Show, at The Cutting Room, and in halftime shows for the Brooklyn Nets, in addition to working as a principal dancer with PMT Dance Company on multiple projects. In 2022, she choreographed her first music video, “Waves” by Kaylee Shahira. She also served as a guest choreographer for PMT Dance Company’s production Dissonance, presented in both NYC and upstate New York. In 2025, she choreographed her first WNBA halftime show and is set to choreograph again in August. In 2023, Mica founded her own dance company, Querencia. The company has been featured in festivals such as the DSA Spotlight Series and Spark Theater, and has also performed at the Alzheimer’s Walk in Central Park. Mica is a dedicated and passionate choreographer and teacher who is committed to continuous growth. She strives to equip her students with the tools to succeed while fostering creativity, connection, and opportunity within the dance community. She hopes to inspire her students, fellow dancers, and audiences through her dedication, passion, and artistic journey.
