LET'S DANCE and have some FUN! Matt’s class encourages the students to explore storytelling through musicality and performance in a supportive environment. Most recently Matt choreographed the dance activism piece RESIST DANCE. With 5 Broadway shows and 23 operas at the Metropolitan Opera, his style explores the various styles of musical theater, finding a balance between the rich history (Jack Cole, Fosse, Robbins, Bennett, Gower Champion) and the ever changing contemporary landscape (Funk, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Street Jazz). Students are challenged to use their own point of view and individuality to tell a story while connecting with an audience…and throughout lifting each other up!
